Mark Carey Featured on NBC Connecticut to Discuss the Vaccine Mandate

On September 12, 2021, employment attorney Mark Carey appeared on NBC Connecticut to discuss his reaction to President Biden’s vaccine mandate with Dan Corcoran.  Watch the interview HERE.

President Biden declared, our patience is wearing thin and your refusal has cost all of us. This is not about freedom or personal choice. It is about protecting yourself and those around you.

Carey conceded the voluntary vaccination program is not working and the President had to escalate the battle against Covid-19 by issuing a vaccine mandate to all employers with more than one hundred employees and contractors working with the federal government. Carey likened the vaccine mandate to the President’s declaration of an act of war. Every citizen needs to understand the important balance between national interests and individual freedoms. In this case, the vaccine mandate demonstrates how personal liberty interests give way to issues of national security. Carey further stated the vaccine mandate passes constitutional muster, as the mandate is rationally related to ending the pandemic through vaccination. Carey stated this was not a political issue, as any President regardless of party affiliation would have had to issue the vaccine mandate. He concluded that history will be on President Biden’s side when the pandemic is over.
